FAT takes on an entirely new meaning with this body positive brand by Dee Moore of Houston, Texas. This dynamic woman has a goal to change the negative associations with the term fat and through her brands, the goals are materialized. With trendy sayings on the T shirts such as “No body is perfect” and “I got 99 problems but my curves ain’t one” attention is quickly gained! These shirts represent not only body positivity but also give a voice of expression through fashion.
Dorcas Collection is a retail line also created by Dee Moore and shows the softer and more feminine side of women with trendy dresses, edgy pieces, and my favorite, the high waisted long A-line skirt in bright prints! I had the opportunity to rock one of these pieces at her fashion show in 2016 In Houston, TX
The most recent Fashionable and Thick Fashion Show was a success where numerous boutiques and designers showcased their upcoming seasonal and new items! Enjoy a few flashback pictures from the recent runway event!
A few words from Dee:
When people think of the word fat or see someone that is “FAT” it always come with a negative backlash. I created FAT (Fashionable And Thick) to change the way the word FAT is used. Along with having a line of T-shirts we want everyone to know that we are a body positive movement. assisting other plus size women with self esteem issues and empowerment we also offer modeling and fashion show production. The Dorcas Collection an entity of the FAT brand, was of course named after me. You have to read Acts 9:36 to understand. Also I like to dress differently, I don’t like to have what the next person has on, so I created this line for those who may want something one of kind such as I do. Some of the pieces are boutique items, while others are custom made.
